Trustee Roles and Responsibilities
Adopted February 16, 2012
- A Trustee has an interest in music, and is a subscriber to and attendee of Portland Symphony Orchestra concerts.
- A Trustee is a community ambassador. A Trustee is an active participant in raising funds and/or building connections for the Portland Symphony Orchestra, and attends PSO events.
- A Trustee gives advice and counsel to help the Portland Symphony Orchestra achieve its objectives.
- The PSO will be one of the Trustee’s top philanthropic priorities during the Trustee’s service, and he or she will make a commitment to the Annual Fund that is personally significant.
- A Trustee serves actively on at least one committee/task force, and regularly attends Board meetings and committee/task force meetings.
The Trustee & Governance Committee can recommend re-nomination of a Trustee based on discussion with the Trustee and an evaluation of the performance of these Roles and Responsibilities.
A Trustee is elected for a 3-year term at the PSO Board of Trustees’ Annual Meeting, and may serve a maximum of three 3-year terms.
